Nacho Blog: The Culture of Hate
I am trying to understand why so much hate exists, just on this tiny platform of the internet. I know, I was young once. I used to hate my mom, going to school, not having cool shoes or a Dreamcast. I used to hate the kids who called me gay or un-pretty. I’m still not particularly fond of a girl who I told I had attempted to drown myself that morning and she told no one. But seriously, anon or not, online or ‘irl’ we work so goddamn hard to hate on other peoples clothes’, dreams, policies and anything we can pick off them. We can’t just say, “sorry man, I can’t share your opinion on that one,” or just continuing to scroll by the picture we don’t have to ‘like.’ Isn’t it exhausting calling everyone a twat or hating on their clothes all the time? Aren’t you tired?
this. lots and lots of this. it confuses me too. why focus on the negative and bring others around you down? keeping positive thoughts and actions in your life isn’t always easy but the results are so much more fulfilling.
